3 things attracted me to this particular view of Piazza San Marco:
1, the simple bands of colour.
2, how I perceive Venice as opposed to my other favourite Italian city, Siena.
I see Siena as a palette of dusky earthy colours,
I see Venice as a much richer palette.
Hence the touch of Gold Leaf in places.
3, the patterns of the window openings on the facades and how much or how little emphasis to give them.
