The Poolside, an absolute Oasis.
Wanted to capture the dusky greens & blues of the Côte d’Azur.
Also, what if Hockney had persuaded Messrs. Roux that some brighter green & blue sunbeds would fit in with the Calder.
And, he could gaze upon Matisse’s Icarus swimming in the Pool below.
Getting more liberal with my use of micro tape & scrim tape as an appliqué!

Think it comes from seeing Alberto Burri’s Sack Series when I was a Young Friend of The Tate.
